Mr David Pidgeon (1980-89)

While at Trinity, David excelled in graphic design, sport, science and art. He decided from a relatively young age that graphic design was his passion.

During his third year at Swinburne, he met John Gollings, one of the most acclaimed architectural photographers in Australia (and a current Trinity parent), who offered him the opportunity to establish a graphic design business in conjunction with Gollings’ photographic business – an immense compliment and challenge for a third year university student. The business Gollings-Pidgeon was a pre-eminent firm in the area of design and photography.

David’s approach to solving design problems (with his company Design By Pidgeon) has rewarded him well and in 2006, he was inducted into Alliance Graphique Internationale (AGI), an elite international club of the world’s leading graphic designers and artists in a professional collaboration of common interest and achievement. David is also an active supporter of the arts and lectures on graphic design.

In the past eight years his work has inspired the attention of peers and critics alike and has been published in many international and Australian publications. In recent years he has picked up a trove of awards from organisations which include the Australian Graphic Design Association and the National Australian Business Arts Foundation.
